The Ring Nebula is located near the bright star Vega making it relatively easy to find in the night skies when visible during the North American summer months. It is a small but bright object measuring just an apparent 3′ 48′ by 2′ 24″ requiring a significant amount of cropping even with large magnification.
This image was made with a Nikon Z7 II and a Nikon 600mm f/6.3 lens with a 1.4x teleconverter for a total 840mm at f/9. A total of 120 30-second exposures at ISO 6400 were made for a total of 60 minutes exposure time. Star tracking was done with a Fornax LighTack II. Aligned images from Deep Sky Stacker were stacked and stretched using Python coded algorithms. Some final image processing was done with Topaz DeNoise AI and Capture One.
