Dumbbell Nebula (Messier 27) Astrophotograph

Dumbbell Nebula (M27)

The Dumbell Nebula, also known as the Apple Core Nebula, is an emission nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula. It is approximately 1360 light-years away with a diameter of approximately 2.88 light-years. There is some color shift in the central nebula region. It should be more of a uniform teal color similar to the outer edges based on its emission spectra rather than blue. I have tried multiple raw converters with similar color shift results.

This image was made with a Nikon Z7 II and a Nikon 600mm f/6.3 lens and a 1.4x teleconverter for a total focal length of 840mm at f/9. A total of 120 30-second exposures at ISO 6400 were made for a total of 60 minutes exposure time. Star tracking was done with a Fornax LighTack II. Aligned images from Deep Sky Stacker were stacked and stretched using Python coded algorithms. Some final image processing was done with Topaz DeNoise AI and Capture One.
