Helix Nebula (NGC 7293)
The Helix Nebula is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius. It is a relatively close 655 light-years from earth with an approximate diameter of 5.7 light-years. Helix is visible relatively low in the southern skies during the late summer and fall months of the mid-North American latitudes.
This image was made with a Nikon Z7 II and a Nikon 600mm f/6.3 lens. A total of 113 30-second exposures at ISO 6400 were made for a total of 56.5 minutes exposure time. Star tracking was done with a Fornax LighTack II. Aligned images from Deep Sky Stacker were stacked and stretched using Python coded algorithms. Some final image processing was done with Topaz DeNoise AI and Capture One.
